Cooking Japanese
About the Cooking Japanese website
When Kenji Sato was a sophomore in high school in Japan, he started becoming interested in the culinary arts as a career option. After speaking with his parents about it, he began researching which school to go to for this purpose. He also had the opportunity to come to the United States as an exchange student. It was at this time that he had made up his mind to someday return.
After graduating high school, Kenji attended the prestigious Osaka Japanese Culinary School. It is considered to be the highest Chef School in the country. It is an intense one year program during which he studied Japanese Cuisine, Chinese Cuisine, and French Gourmet. After graduating, Kenji was awarded with a license which allowed afforded him the right to open a restaurant in Japan. But Kenji had already made up his mind. He could not adequately express his creative freedom under the senior chefs of Japan so he made an effort to come to America. Kenji was one of four chefs chosen to make the journey.
There were similar constraints on creativity in the Japanese restaurants in America. So after many years of hard chef work in upscale Japanese restaurants, namely Benihana, and some suggestions from clients and friends, Kenji decided to make a set of cooking videos geared toward showing regular people like yourself just how easy and fun cooking can be, especially for those of us who love Japanese cuisine and sushi!
You see, Chef Kenji believes that food does not have to be prepared strictly according to customary traditions. As long as the person who is eating it is comfortable and the dish tastes good, then the meal is a success! He genuinely cares about the people he cooks for. Kenji could have made a complicated video displaying difficult techniques and showing off his many years of experience. He chose to show how easy it can be to cook at home, even if you do not already know how. See for yourself by ordering Chef Kenji's Cooking Japanese Video Series today for only $19.95.
